Field Safety Technician

Workspace

Customer oil & gas locations land base environment, and/or shop. Occasionally climbing stairs and ladders. Working from Heights. May be frequently exposed to wet, humid, snow, cold and extreme weather conditions and vibration.

Possible Work Hazards: High pressure, high elevations, H2S and chemicals. The noise level in work environment is usually moderate to high.

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Calibration on portable and fixed gas detection equipment, air sampling equipment, and sound level equipment at customer locations
• Perform calibrations, repairs, rebuilds and general maintenance on customer equipment.
• Work in the field and shop
• Rig up basic Gas Detection Systems
• Operate and maintain gas detection systems and breathing air safety equipment.
• Completes all KO Safety Services LLC and Customer documentation associated with assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner. This includes all inspection and repair documents, job cost billable expenses and time sheets.
• Ensures that all SKA's and SCBA's are functional, fully charged, and clean.
• Performs other functions and may cross-train as part of training and development.
• Assist others in facility with inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling, and testing shop equipment, SCBA’s, manifolds, regulators, hoses, and other safety equipment.
• Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.

Requirements

Preferred Training: SAFE GULF or SAFE LAND or PEC Basic, confined space entry and Rescue training. CPR/First Aid Training. Customer Service skill training. Trained to complete site inspections.. Manufacturer trained for fixed gas detection. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Have good mobility.

 

Additional Certifications: OSHA 10, OSHA 30, RSO (Radiation Safety Officer)
